Project version 4.5.1

Sound sample

Project Information

  • The sound project is optimized for MTB model with Plux22 connector.
  • The sound project is designed for 16-bit sound decoder MS450P22.
  • Recommended minimum decoder software version is 5.5.
  • The decoder has a default address of 3.
  • Reset can be performed by setting CV8 = 8.

Max. Speed Setting

We recommend setting max. speed via CV57, not via CV5. Setting max. speed via CV5 may cause changes in sound range. The acceleration time setting CV3 and deceleration time setting CV4 are not affected by setting max. speed via CV57.

Shunting Mode

In shunting mode, all 4 position lights are turned on. If this functionality is not desired, it can be disabled by setting CV37 = 0. To re-enable, set CV37 = 3. Enabling the mode also turns off red lights and headlight if they are on. If this functionality is not desired, it can be disabled by setting CV430 = 0. To re-enable, set CV430 = 3.

The mode reduces acceleration and braking times to ¼ of the settings in CV3 and CV4. If this functionality is not desired, it can be disabled by setting CV124 = 16. Complete deactivation of acceleration and braking times is possible by setting CV124 = 19.

If shunting mode functionality is not desired, it can be disabled by setting CV124 = 0.

Standard shunting mode setting in the project is CV124 = 18.

In shunting mode, a short horn is triggered at each start. This functionality is handled by a script. For the short horn to trigger, three conditions must be met:

  1. The function itself must be enabled via F3.
  2. Engine sound must be enabled via F8.
  3. The model must be accelerating from zero speed.

Setting CV837 = 16 disables this functionality, standard setting CV837 = 0.

F5 Coasting vs F6 Engine Acceleration to Max RPM

If both functions are enabled, coasting takes precedence.

Cabin Lighting

If driver's cabin lighting is enabled via F9, it automatically turns off during model movement and turns back on when the model stops/accelerates. For technical reasons1), this is handled by a script. If this functionality is not desired, it can be disabled by setting CV837 = 8. Standard setting CV837 = 0.

If you want driver's cabin lighting functionality without automatic turning off during model movement, set CV43 = 96, CV837 = 8. To disable this mode, set CV43 = 0, CV837 = 0.

1) With standard settings, it is possible to have slow lighting and dimming of the function output or turning off the function output during movement, but not both functions simultaneously.*

Compressor

The project includes two versions of compressor triggering, both handled by script:

  1. Random compressor triggering, which is conditioned by engine sound being enabled via F8. This is turned off by enabling the compressor via F17.
  2. Enabling compressor via F17. It is conditioned by F8 being enabled and zero speed.

Setting CV837 = 1 disables the ability to trigger compressor via F17.

Setting CV837 = 2 disables random compressor triggering.

Setting CV837 = 3 disables both options, standard setting CV837 = 0.

Wheel Squealing in Curves

Wheel squealing in curves is handled by script, several conditions must be met for triggering:

  1. The function itself must be enabled via F19, engine sound must be enabled via F8.
  2. The sound won't trigger at very slow speed, set speed must be more than 14 (from speed range 0 – 126).
  3. The sound won't trigger at high speed, set speed must be less than 100 (from speed range 0 – 126).

Setting CV837 = 4 disables wheel squealing in curves, standard setting CV837 = 0.

User Function Layout Setting

User function layout setting is possible via CV400 – CV428. The project does not use it for its purposes.

Decoder Reset

It may happen that while setting up the decoder you make a mistake that you can't fix or get lost in the settings. In this case, we recommend performing a decoder reset. To reset the decoder, program CV8 = 8. This programming will perform a reset to the sound project settings.
